This publication accompanied the show at Hauser & Wirth in New York from May through July 2015, and features a selection of the ultrachrome ink-on-mylar works from the exhibition.
Referencing Plato’s philosophical and ethical exploration of the many questions raised by our desires and the ways in which they shape our lives, Applebroog's large-scale nudes engage the dramatic aesthetics of the catwalk while introducing a socio-psychological tension. The book’s front and back cover are imprinted with the names of philosophers who have reflected on the topic that gives the show and the publication their title.
Format: Paperback, 305 x 190 mm
