Exclusive to the Freud Museum, a unique replica of the Peruvian (Mochican) vessel in shape of a figure depicting a dignitary.
This Peruvian vessel figure is a rare example of a South American antiquity in Freud’s collection. The vessel, dated from c. 200 AD from the Moche civilisation, could have been given to Freud by the young Peruvian doctor Honorio Delgado, who was a great admirer of his and worked on bringing psychoanalytical ideas to Latin America.The base of each figurine is initialled and dated by the artist, Martha Todd.
All figures are individually made and will vary slightly.
