The pattern on the back of this pocket mirror comes from an eighteenth-century Austrian coffer belonging to Anna Freud.
Decorated with floral motifs and faux-marble effects against a blue background, Anna Freud bought this rustic furniture in 1930 and used it to furnish the country house in the Vienna Woods which she shared with Dorothy Burlingham. It is on permanent display in the Freud Museum dining room.
Packaged with an inlay card containing a quote from Freud's 'Interpretation of Dreams'.
